Who We Are

Every family needs a place to call home. A place where they can dream, grow and become part of their community. But for many families, no matter how hard they work and try, having a home of their own will always be out of reach. That is why Habitat for Humanity is essential.

• Since its founding in 1986, Salt Lake Valley Habitat for Humanity has built 81 houses, providing shelter for more than 200 people in the Salt Lake Valley.
  
• This innovative program offers a hand up not a hand out. Habitat for Humanity does not give away homes. It provides a way for hard-working,  lower income families to own their homes in a market where obtaining a home mortgage is unattainable by conventional means.
  
• Salt Lake Valley Habitat for Humanity partners with the community to provide affordable housing with no-profit, zero-percent interest mortgages to our partner families. New homeowners and volunteers build homes under the supervision of our trained construction manager. Individuals, corporations and many others provide much needed financial support.
